MUAY THAI KICK - BOXING

MY Thai boxing experience has been within the pure art of Muay Thai and with exposure to the M.M.A  world. I have trained extensively with the K.O group (UK) and we have built a friendship with American Thai boxing groups i.e. FAIRTEX (California )I have also trained with  Walter "Sleeper" Michalowski' and  Bas Rutten a M.M.A artist in the US. I consider both men geniuses in their field so therefore I have used their input into core training drills for combat and sparring for my system .

During my kickboxing  and Thai boxing career, I have competed in over 78 WKA/IKA/IAKA  recognised fights between 1996 and 2002,with an excellent record only 8 defeats 9 draws . Between 2001 /02 I fought in 18 bouts (nearly one a month) and achieved an excellent record.14.2.2.

we study Thai boxing at all levels .we aim to cover enough of the Thai boxing  system to allow a technician to use the system in a confrontation and spar safely with it and we teach the system in 7 components, the guard, the shield , boxing and movement ,the engagement basic ,intermediate ,and advance  ,and finally the battle were we aim to dominate and apply all of our tools to defeat  our opponent or the opponents ,we have 6 ranks for this art ,novice, beginner, intermediate level 1-2 then advance and technician level which is competition grade .(THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE )

the Thai boxing element is taught along with Ju jitsu and allows the student to study combat engagement and up their endurance in and apply their locks in a realistic exchange. we also work with pankration ,working on take downs, throws ,submission and domination via engagement ,for those competing (see www.mmacombatcyprus.com for those training in self defence ,it allows us to mix working with body weapons and scernios whereby a student can work from defence to attack and control using the best self defence systems

  Filipino Arts and Weapons Training

I have studied stick fighting and short blades with Filipino instructors  in London over the last couple of years. I believe ,in order to learn how to defend against a knife attack a C.Q.C R.B.C Technician needs to comfortable with a blade and appreciate the methods of attack. I have also trained in field combat using the machete alongside Thai/Filipino army combat technicians ,who are part of THE CLOSE QUARTERS REALITY BASED COMBAT SYSTEM group.

students are taught the use of the above weapons and KRAV MAGA THEORY - OF USING ANYTHING TO HAND FOR SELF DEFENCE ALONG WITH KubotaN's,SHORT KRIS BLADES AND BALI SONG kniveS .

students are taught traditional and modern weapons training ,knife and machete as well as specialist training sessions with modern fire arms as part of the curriculum .

To summarise :the above arts are taught within the other arts to allow students to train in all ranges and to  allow them to understand all combat concepts using boxing, kicking, trapping, breaking, throwing, locking and applied into all out scenarios ,fixed scenarios  .this this what I have labelled "reality based combat training"
